Event Window Check-in Tab - large groups

When opening a group event with a large number of participants, the booking list displays no problem, but switching to the check-in tab takes up to 3 minutes to display the list.

This is specific to events with at least 80 people and up to many hundreds. These are not actual events, but one day sales. We tick the check in box once the customer has redeemed the offer.

Anyway to resolve the lag?

  • How long does it take on your server to open this event? And is your computer connected by WIFI or a wired (or worse, a VPN)?

  • It's pretty much the same on the server. Maybe a little bit faster than the wifi connected workstations.

  • To be clear, we do not recommend WIFI connected PCs.... we always recommended hardwire connected PCs, especially for the calendar. Some operations in the Calendar are very computationally expensive with SQL requests to the server, and a WIFI connection will be 10x slower than a cabled connection often.

    I just downloaded St Pete's data and opened the event with 240 participants. It took 5 seconds to open the Check-Ins tab in the event.

    If your SERVER (not WIFI workstations!) is taking more than 10-15 seconds to open the event, then I'd begin to suspect your server is waaaaaaaay underperforming. I could imagine the WIFI workstations taking a long time, hence why we recommend cabled connections.

    Were you 100% sure you were operating on the server when you performed the latest test and not on a workstation or through a VPN? As I said, it took 5 seconds on my PC.
