Annual registration fee

Hello again,

We're introducing an annual registration fee but I'm having difficulty setting it up so that it automatically expires on twelve months on.

I was planning on just adding it as a product, but then it doesn't expire. I was then looking at whether it's possible to admin it via 'status' but I can't see any way to modify statuses.

I've seen a few other places do a similar thing - how do you manage this issue of automatic expiration?
