Uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) on your server - not a bad idea...

A large gym recently experienced a crash/corruption of their MySQL database when someone cycled power on the wrong circuit breaker. While a rare event, it did happen and caused much grief.

A simple a low-cost preventative measure is to install an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) on your server. They are cheap and available locally from any computer or office store.

It's cheap insurance and I highly recommend it.

Here is a link to some Amazon ones. Beyond making sure you get one that can run for at least 10-15 minutes on battery (for a power outtage as well), I don't have any specific recommendation though, sorry.
