Cannot start Config utility.
I am unable to start the Config utility. I'm using Win7 and when I try to start it turns on the compatibility mode, but declines to start the app. Data Entry and others start OK. Background is that our old machine died and I have just installed on a new machine. I created a blank database during my install, but I want to create a new blank database with a specific encryption key. This is why I'm trying to start Config. Any ideas ??

RGP works fine with Windows 7, so it isn't a general problem.
Have you tried NOT using compatibility mode?
The compatibility mode is starting itself because Win seems to be having some problem. It is not my choice. This is the only symptom I see. Does RGP log any errors to a file?
It is not starting the app, so there is nothing for me to log.
I'm not sure how, but you can control if Windows decides to use compatibility mode or not for a particular app.
OK, we're taking another stab at this. Executive decision has been made to abandon the old database and start a new one with 2013. So we have the blank database installed with an encryption key- is there a way to confirm this encryption key so that as we make backups we can be reasonably confident that we will be able to restore if the need arises?
