Sub-Items for Intangible Items

We have created some items in POS such as classes and lessons that we have configured with sub items. This helps us so that when we sell a Climbing 101 class, staff is prompted to pick a color (either member or non-member etc) which then has different pricing.

Is there any way to mark these items and sub items as intangibles so that RGP does not attempt to keep stock on this item?
Or should we just create these as fully separate items?

    Sub-items are only supported for retail items, not intangibles.
