Integrating RGP with a 24-hour door
We've had a few requests on how RGP could integrate with a 24-hour door access.
RGP can be called directly from the command line to validate a barcode.
To connect to a door you would need to have someone write a small Windows program that listened for the barcode from the door, called RGP, and then opened the door if RGP returned that the barcode was valid.
Format:
rockgympro.exe /barcode XXXXX
where XXXX is the barcode.
RGP will return 0 (good) or (1) error. It will return an error if the barcode is not valid OR the customer's record is not valid - expired membership, past due balance, etc.

Does running from the cmd line like this insert to the checkin table as well ?
Yup, it records a check-in.
Although... this will not check remote databases for a matching barcode in multigym installations. This is on my list to add though. Another gym wants multigym command line check-ins.
What's your timeline for deploying a door? I'd love to add multigym support and have someone to test it.
Are there updates to this feature? (For a single location.) Looking to implement something like it in a co-op type setup. No timeline yet.
It works as advertised and does support multigym now... but no additional updates beyond that.
Andy - do you have any more info about the implementation of this such as the locks used, control system, etc...?
We are researching hardware currently, though can't offer a timeline.
I will say the after reviewing implementations, it is quite expensive. The locking mechanism and installation will easily exceed $5000 from our research.
If you want to discuss what other gyms are using to monitor 24 hour access, please send an email to support@rockgympro.com. If you add "attention: Amy" I will attend to the email.
We have changed how we respond to emails as RGP has hired another support person, Jon Manz, to assist our customers [and me!], so if add the attention Amy- I'll respond. Thank you.
