Quickbooks for our accountant

Hi, our accountant uses quickbooks and would like to be able to have more or less up to date (weekly or better) integration with RGP. As far as I understand, the RGP quickbooks integration only works if quickbooks is running on the same computer. Is there away to export the quickbooks file so that he can load it at his office? Thanks!

  • There is no way to "export" the QB integration because RGP talks directly to quickbooks via their API.

I suggest just periodically emailing them the Journal Entry report available in Reports. It's not automatic integration, but accountants are quite fast at Data Entry :)

In the next update the ability to automatically schedule reports to be emailed is included, so you can then setup an automatic report to your account to be sent each week.

    Hope this helps

  • Talked to the accountant again. I think what we're going to do is install Quickbooks on the database computer and keep the .qbd file in Dropbox so that as I update on my end it updates for him as well. Do you see any potential issues with that?

  • Actually, that's a good solution. I use dropbox and my personal QB file syncs between multiple computers without issue.

The only thing you need to make sure if that you both don't open the file at the same time. Unfortunately drop box won't prevent that and if it happens you'll end up with two different versions of the file.

  • That shouldn't be an issue; I'll just only update it at night after we z-out. Thanks Andy!
