Transactional Email Triggers - suggestions?

In the next update I am beefing up the email system and adding a few more email action triggers.

* Member expired X months ago and hasn't visited (i.e. "we want you back" email)
* Purchased Products Advanced (X days ago, specific customer types, specific member statuses)
* The ultimate weapon: SQL query based like custom reports

Anyone have suggestions for triggers/actions they'd like to see? No promises, but if you have ideas write 'em down!

  • I would like:
    1. You haven't visited in X days.
    2. You have X punches remaining.
    3. High traffic customer (i.e. You have visited more than X times in last year)

Thanks for your work on RGP - it is a great product/service.

  • Just to be clear, your #3 Kenneth wouldn't be a daily email trigger. That's more like a one-time mailing which you could extract from Customer Queries -> Visit Count.

The other ones are good, and even if they don't make the standard trigger list could easily be added via the SQL query trigger!

  • I would actually want the 3rd to be sent as it happens - kind of a Golden Climber club thing. Not a big deal to do once a month though.

  • I am struggling to see how number three could be a rolling trigger without the risk of sending multiple emails to the same customer. If you are looking at the trailing year their visit count total will go up and down.

  • Just for completeness sake, my answer to your question.

The trigger would be along the lines of:

Visit count in {current month} is exactly 20

Then the person gets an email congratulating them for getting into the Golden Climber Club for {current month}.

Visit count in {current year} is exactly 250

Then the person gets email congratulating them for getting their per visit cost down to a twonie.

    No duplicate emails.

  • First off, it is awesome that you are getting this done. I massively appreciate it, and your program is a lifesaver. It works way better than our original "free-tattoo-for-members" idea, which did not work out anywhere near as well in terms of tracking whose dues were current.

A few other auto-emails that I think would be great:
    - A birthday party planning notification - 45 days prior to the birthday for guests preferably in a specific age range, shooting out an email with a coupon for a discount on a birthday party.
    - Two-month-out expiration date warning
    - A tag-related trigger, meaning that the emails could be sent out to specific groups as other membership-related events occur, as in "Now that your first free month as an REI employee is over, you can sign up at a discount!" or using it to make a more personalized "we want you back" email tailored for specific groups, like students, military, etc.
    - This would be more complicated, but an email warning to staff or management for erroneous employee clock-ins; in other words, an alert to someone that the staff clocked in, and never clocked out or has any red in their timeclock. This way, the staff themselves could be notified that they need to talk to a manager about it immediately before payroll is processed.

Hope life is treating you well, and catch up with you soon.
