RGP unable to see waivers on XP Pro machine
Hi,
I installed RGP on an XP Pro SP2 machine, and encountered the following error when I was prompted to download the MySQL connector:
"Could not establish a trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel"
I bypassed this by manually installing the 5.1 connector. When I did this, I was able to complete the install. MySql is on another machine, and is serving to another workstation.
The problem I now have with this install is that it cannot see any waivers, showing me an alert in red at the bottom of POS, saying it cannot get to the waivers. Other machines (Win7) connected to the MySql do not have any issues with waivers.
I tried uninstalling the ODBC driver and RGP, and the problem persists. I turned off the firewall as well. Is there something I am missing? My guess is that the waiver issue is related to the same issue I had where RGP could not download the connector software.

You need XP SP 3, Upgrade to XP Service Pack 3 + IE8 and I bet it works.
This is a problem with the certificate and SP2.
As of 4/11/2014, RGP installed a new SSL certificate as required because of the Heartbleed vulnerability. It is now impossible to create new SSL certificates that will work on XP sp2 (IE7) or Windows Server 2003 with old IE browsers.
Thus,RGP's new SSL certificate is not handled by the old Windows OS/browser.
You can confirm this by trying the two links below. If the HTTPS one does not work, then it is as I suspect - your old computer cannot handle the modern SSL certificates.

If you aren't running the latest SP for your computer, I recommend you update and then try again. But beyond that, there is nothing RGP can recommend short of upgrading the OS.
