Uncollected membership dues showing in report
Hello!
We just recently began using xcharge to process EFT memberships through RGP. We absolutely love it however there is one part we don't understand. We had two card errors (bad expiration date and one wrong number), it obviously didn't charge the members because with the incorrect information that is impossible, it did however show up on our report for the day that we DID take that money in, when we know we didn't. After the z-out everything was even, but RGP still says we collected $98 that we know we did not collect. The next day we got the correct expiration date for one of the cards and processed that, which didn't end up showing up on our report for that day (this evens us out for one of the memberships for the previous day). Does RGP just assume that no matter what, declined card or what have you, that money will be collected eventually?
Thanks!

I am not sure what reports you are looking at specifically, but RGP will properly reported that an invoice was generated for the dues. You'd see that in various sales reports, etc.
BUT, it would not show the money as collected since no valid payment was connected to the invoice. Uncollected invoices do not effect a z-out since z-outs only reflect *paid* invoices.
Invoices and payments are two entirely separate things. Every dues event creates invoices on customers. And they are reconciled with payments.
When the payment is collected, the payment will be included as part of the z-out for the date the payment was collected.
I know, with 100% certainty, that this all works properly in RGP thus I suspect you are misinterpreting the various reports.
The only alternate possibility is that you have misconfigured/misrun your billing somehow, but I presume if you got decline warnings your billing went through correctly.
Hope this helps,
Andy
Andy,
As I assumed through our confusion, we misinterpreted the various reports. This makes much more sense and I appreciate you getting back to me so quickly.
