Returns

Is there a way to limit who has the privilege of processing returns at the POS? At the moment it appears that any staff member that has access to the POS can do a return without a manager. This is a bit dangerous since some staff might process a return for the wrong reasons. Is there a way to require a manager pin for all returns?

  • Any staff member can do a return, and this is by design. Many, many gyms operate with managers not always on duty.

All returns and voids are recorded by staff pin, so if you are concerned about security just be sure you use pins > 5 numbers or letters.

  • Would it be possible to at least set a minimum level of access for returns? That way there is a separate level for POS sales and a separate level for POS returns. While I trust my staff with the cash draw, some of them should only be doing sales and not returns to avoid any errors. This way there does not need to be a manager on duty to process a return.

  • The Z-Out Summary Report provides a total dollar value of all returns for a given period. How do we itemize the amount to identify which returns were retail items vs. non-retail items? The purpose is to accurately report and remit local retail sales tax.

  • Chris - the sales tax report shows the total amount of taxable items sold/returned, which is what you should be using for sales tax liability.
