Critical Information - Rock Gym Pro, McAfee Anti Virus, and MySQL

Critical information regarding MCAFEE ANTI VIRUS and MYSQL

Today a gym experienced a failure while updating their database to the latest version of Rock Gym Pro, and the cause was traced to McAfee AntiVirus. This is a documented flaw between certain versions of McAfee Virus Scan and MySQL. Apparently, McAfee AntiVirus can intermittently cause problems including MySQL backups to fail.

If you are running McAfee Virus Scan on your computer that is hosting MySQL I highly recommend disabling it and installing another antivirus software.

I use Nod32 from http://www.eset.com/ and I’ve never experienced a problem.
