Punches expiration date?

Hi,

We have a system where member will pay for 12 punches per month, so once their month is over they will have to purchase new punches, even if they haven't used them all.

Any way of making this kind of membership?

  • You could add the punches with an expiration date of +1 months in the future. Punches allow expiration dates.

Additionally, if these are the only style of punches you sell - you can set the default expiration period for punches to be one month.

  • You can edit a punch with the EDIT ADJUSTMENT button. Or when adding punches with the ADD ADJUSTMENT button you can check the Expires checkbox and add an expiration date.

Watch the video for POS Quick Check-In on this page for how to "wire up" a product to prompt at POS. That being said it won't automatically add 12 punches, but it will allow the staff member to quickly add them.

  • Yup i figured that part with expiration.
The one thing which it would really make life easier is to implement that feature when you sell Punches to Customer to automatically adds them to his account (so far the only option is to edit customer and add manually :( )

  • There are a million reasons why adding punches automatically is fraught with issues. The system is designed the way it is for a reason.

After the POS transaction, if the product is configured properly it will prompt the staff. All they need to do is hit EDIT on the customer and then one of the quick actions at the bottom (add punches) of the window. About two or three clicks.

When you think about the complexity and variety of transactions (buying punches for SOMEONE ELSE is one such example) you'll start to understand why it is setup this way and the risks of automatically adding punches.
