Connecting through WiFi

We have a new RGP server running, yet we're having a technical difficulty.

Here's our setup:
Server on LAN with a static IP 10.1.10.40.
Front desk computers on LAN with similar 10.1.10.xxx IP addresses.
Laptop computers for waivers on WAN with IP addresses like 192.168.2.5

We had the exact same network setup before we upgraded the server. The server is now running Windows 7. The old server was running XP. The only thing that has changed is the server computer.

We can access all of the RGP features from any wired network computer on the LAN.
We can ping the server from the laptops, yet can not access the RGP server from the laptops via the WAN.

Firewalls on the server have been disabled. Port 3306 is open. We can only ping the server.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • It would seem the WIFI computers are on a different subnet. Perhaps your old server was configured to talk on both subnet concurrently. You should contact your IT person or someone familiar with your network to setup the server to talk on both subnets OR alternately put the wifi computers on the same subnet.

    Hope this helps
