Version Mismatch between Gyms

Hello All,

So I just installed the newest update for RGP. We have two gyms, North and South, each gym has one server, one POS computer, and one check in computer. So I just updated every computer with the newest version of RGP and then restarted them. My problem is the North can connect to the south but the south cannot connect to the north. Under test connection in the settings menu it says the connection is fine but when I click on status it says version mismatch. However at least under data entry in the bottom right the versions are identical on all 6 computers. I have tried multiple restarts to no avail. I was curious if anyone had a fix for this before I start digging around, trying to find a solution. Thank you in advance.

Cheers,

Patrick

  • Hmm.... Somewhere there is a computer at the old version. I presume you've restarted RGP on all computers?

  • Hey Andy,

Yes I have. I have restarted RGP on all computers as well as restarting the computers themselves. I just checked all 6 computers and they are all running the same version v1.1.110521.55.

  • Did u make any other changes today? And are u sure there is not another connection somewhere running the old version? Perhaps a logmein session or similar?

  • Hey Andy,

No I did not make any other changes at all today. I just went through and verified again and all the computers are running the same version. I even updated RGP on my laptop as well which at the time wasn't even connected to the network and am having the same issue. The odd thing is the North gym can connect to the south with no issues at all but the south cannot connect to the north. Is that indicative of where the problem may lie? We have ipads as well but they are set up as waiver stations. As of right now those are the only computers connected to our network.

  • This was happening to me as well. Specifically one gym 1 could see gym 2, but gym 2 could not see gym 1. Also, gym 1 was not able to pull in any bookings related to gym 2 customers.

I ran the mysql optimizer and it seemed to fix things. Coincidence?

  • This gym was connecting to the wrong database on the server - he had bigger issues and the update simply exposed a much bigger problem in his configuration.

In your case, The optimizer was coincidence and more than likely there was an old version that was still running somewhere and it got updated about the same time.
