reciept printer
Many of the receipt printers have the USB connection as recommended. Is there a difference for RGP for the receipt printers with a parallel interface, or Ethernet interface?
With the cash drawers and cable that matches the brand of receipt printer. I am planning on using TWO POS computers at my front desk. With that, the (Epson) cables designate interface cable for 1st cash drawer, and another cable is listed as (epson) cable for 2nd cash drawer. http://www.posguys.com/cash-drawer_32/MMF-Cash-Drawer-Advantage_986/
Do I get one of each cable?

If I am using TWO POS computers at my front desk with a dedicated member check in computer, do I need:
2 cash drawers
2 receipt printers
2 POSX cc readers
I guess my question with this is: Is it recommended to have 2 of the above items? If not, what can get scaled down to ONE?
I still recommend the receipt printers in the deployment document on the Support page.
That being said, RGP doesn't care what the connection to the printer is since you just install a Windows Printer Driver for it and print directly through Windows. I personally haven't seen any receipt printers in a long time that come with an old fasion printer interface though - they all seem to be USB now.
BUT - the cash drawer must connect to the receipt printer. If you use a non-recommended receipt printer you will be on your own to discover the cash drawer opening strings that need to be sent to the printer to open the cash drawer.
I recommend ONE cash drawer and ONE printer. If you share the receipt printer as a network printer on your LAN, you can have as many POS machines as you want pointing to that printer (it is just like any printer on your network). And all those POS machines can then open the cash drawer as well. That's the reason to have the cash drawer connect to the printer.
Hope this helps

As a first timer into this, I plan on doing everything that is recommended. On the receipt printers from the deployment link http://www.posguys.com/receipt-printer_12/Epson-TM-T88V_1033/ -- the top two recommended choices seem to differ from a parallel interface, or Ethernet interface. I just want to get the right one.
Very helpful on the ONE cash drawer info.
Ah, I see your question. Those all contain USB interfaces and then the other interfaces are irrelevant, additional interfaces that you won't use...so... get the parallel interface, not that it matters :)
