Punch card membership
Would it be possible to make a person with a punch card a member with experation time on the membership, but not the punch card?
We offer a membership that allows discounts on products and access to certain areas of the facility, but the person pays for entry using a punch card. It would be nice to have RGP's membership facility track the length of that membership for us and automatically apply discounts, as well as allow them to buy a punch card.
In a ddition to that, we see a lot of tourists, and we could classify them as guests, and the locals as members in the system to help differentiate them. We do not yet do the typical membership, as it is very expensive for EFT managment here in NZ. We also find the punch cards work very well and use not having an experation on them as a selling point.

Since you do not use the typical prepaid membership, if you set your customers up with a prepaid membership in RGP, and then use the customer subtype feature to track them as a "Punch Card" customer type, you could apply discounts to them.
This wouldn't work if you are using the electronic punch card tracking in the program, but if you are using paper punch cards this would work.

We are using the electronic scan punch card so we don't have to give anything to the customer. I know it is a bit of an od request, but I know of other gyms that want you to be a "member" whether you have a paid membership for your entries or not. So this request would suit them as well. "Members" would be your regular customers vs casual one offs.

A solution for this could be to add an expiration date option to subtypes. This expiration date could be set to match the expiration date of the group they are in that provides access to the discount. When it expires a warning note could come up on the check in screen.
