Internal error when adding notes on customers (AVG Antivirus bug)
Hey guys, was wondering if anyone had insight on this error. Whenever we try to add notes on customer's account we get an Internal Error. The text box opens up, but as soon as we begin to type the Error screen pops up.
"RGP has detected an internal error. The error has been logged and transmitted to RGP headquarters. There is no need to contact us regarding this error"
RGP asks to submit an error report with what happened, but it also won't let us type in that either.
Anyone familiar with this error? Any advice would be appreciated-- I tried searching the forums and I couldn't find any previous discussions regarding it.
Thanks

Is this happening on all your computers? Or just one? And if just one, anything "special" about this computer?
This is our only computer with RGP. It was running normally last week, then it started doing it out of the blue. Nothing considerably special about this computer, there is no software that was recently installed. Perhaps a recent virus scanner we install about 6 days ago (AVG), but other than that I can't think what would affect it.
Were any Windows updates installed? What Windows OS?
Try disabling the antivirus to see if that fixes it.
Also try a Windows system restore to BEFORE 6 days ago (you don't lose data, just any new software installs after that date)
I have confirmed that this is a bug in the recent AVG Anti-Virus software update. If you uninstall AVG, the problem will go away.
Unfortunately, this is a crash deep within Windows as a result of a bug in AVG that is impacting multiline textboxes within.NET applications (such as RGP). This is not a bug in RGP - it is in AVG, but the crash happens when you try to enter a keystroke into any multiline text box within RGP.
The only solution is to uninstall AVG and install a different antivirus. We recommend ESET NOD32. Avoid Mcaffee or Norton!
I suspect AVG will fix this bug eventually (and I intend to submit an error report to them), but obviously there is no guarantees when they will fix it.
Hope this helps
Workaround provided by AVG:
In AVG Options->Advanced Settings, Under Exceptions, add an exception
for RockGymPro.exe
I have tested this and it fixes the exception.
