Batch Receipts

On one of our batch receipts, under the "other payments" spot, there is an amount besides the Mastercard category, this number is in parenthesis. What do that mean when it is in parenthesis?

    Amount refunded/returned. A number in parenthesis is a negative when dealing with currency.
