cc integration
If we already have a contract for merchant services with another provider and can't use x-charge, when we start using RGP can our existing service/machine be integrated. or does integration only work with x charge?

Integration only works with XCharge. But there is no setup fee, so there isn't any risk. You can also just use XCharge for billing and continue to use your existing terminal for POS transactions. In many cases, some gyms just eat the $10/month (or whatever) for their old merchant account and switch to XCharge since the workflow is so much better.
Give Craig a call at XCharge and see what he says:

Good luck!
Andy - any chance that you would consider adding another intergated gateway that would work outside the US? ie: Australia and NZ (sounds like a good idea ay BCWanaka?)
I could do all the running around/research and gather whatever info you need if that makes it easier.
Please.....

TheLacticFactory, that would be good. Better would a POS option for EFTPOS (direct debit), that we use down here because we are just getting check cards. At the moment, almost half of my sales I have to use the check selection of how it was paid, as it is the closest option to EFTPOS. It runs through a credit card and eftpos terminal, like a credit card in the US. So intergration would nice as well.

I'm not running any EFTPOS at all at the moment - cash sales only, but I really think that it's limiting the number of membership sales I make since no-one walks around with wads of cash anymore.
I think I'm going to get a magnetic swiper and use a CC gateway like e-path or such.
Do you think that if you didn't have eftpos for check/savings debit that most people would use their credit card - almost everyone has a credit card.
Hi guys -
It is unlikely I'll add any payment gateways for NZ/Australia in the short term. Only a handful of gyms are currently using the software in those countries.
Suggestion though: you can use the Manual Export credit card feature to process batch billing through a 3rd party vendor if you can find one where you can upload a processing file.
Hope this helps
Andy
Thanks Andy,
I'm pretty keen to redo all of our prices and introduce a recurring monthly direct debit membership. - I'll hunt around for a vendor that's up for that.

And worse case, if you have a modest number of members - you can always use the manual export and then process the customers manually via a POS terminal. You could pay a staff person to do it and it'll probably only take a few hours.
Not ideal for sure, but still a money maker.
Hey, I've found an Aussie company that'll allow me to upload text files for batch processing for billing.
Haven't got it fully squared away yet - not a massive fan of their interface, still looking for something better, but at least it's a start.
Clay - Not sure if they'll do NZ, but worth a try for nearly-automated billing of both credit cards and EFTpos (but the files have to be separated). www.securepay.com.au
It's also $800pa for 3000 transactions - feels a little overpriced
