Keeping track of inventory

An employee at my gym came up with what I think is a great idea. In POS when you select an "inventory group" item, all of the sub-items show up. This caused a little confusion on his part because he thought that whatever sub-items were in the list, were in stock.

What I'm thinking is somehow only display INSTOCK sub-items when an "inventory group" item is selected in POS.

Let me know what you think or if this is even possible!

  • I'm not sure this is a good idea, as it would require a user-selectable filter since often you WOULD want to see the entire list to know if you need to add new items. So suddenly there would be even more chance for confusion.

  • Hmm... Let me try to explain better. POS uses a list of every item the gym has/can have in inventory. Many times, my employees need to check and see if something is in stock. The quickest way is to go to data entry > Manage > Products > Look up the product and size. We don't like doing this at the lobby as our setup is visible to customers and shows wholesale info.

What I was suggesting is some sort of faster way to check quantity of stock from POS. Maybe another column that just shows quantity in stock? Would that be an easy addition?

  • thumbs up for inventory display in POS (also for Inventory single products) !

would be really helpful to check if we have certain shoe size in stock without going to Data Entry , etc, etc where - as Josh said - customers can see wholesale info.

  • Would be also usefull to see wholesale price for a product with an option if user has admin rights. This way it's easy to see how cheap you can sell a product (if I want to give super price).
