z-out error -- "RGP Internal Error..." -- did I fail to configure something?

This occurs when selecting the Z-Out Front-Desk Register BUTTON.
Selecting NO causes POS to exit.

  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling rgp. You won't loose any data.

  • You don't happen to have visual studio on your computer do you? Googling that error indicates possible conflicts.

    And, yes, this TEST was conducted on my LT -- which as VS 2008

  • same result after un-install and re-install of RGP.

    looked breifly at those Google hits..
    yes, seems like it's getting a wrong version the .DLL?

    And I've just re-downloaded the SRC bundle.
    Will that have everything I need to research this a bit more?
    Is that SRC bundle actually up-to-date?

  • The source code is very out-of-date right now, and it wouldn't help anyways, as this isn't a source problem. I don't think fixing it is particular critical since this is just a test computer - and you really don't need to z-out on a test computer.

    (I've never had a report of this problem on any of the 500+ computers currently running RGP - a bit of a needle in a haystack problem)
