Error [42s21} mysql After install
Andy,
Hope you can save me, I just downloaded and installed the newest update using the big purple button.
When the system asked me to automatically restart the RGP program, I said yes. I then tried to open my Data Entry section and the following error pop-up.
Error [42s21] [MySQL] [ODBC 5.1 Driver] [mysqld-5.5.9] Duplicate column name 'archive'
I have no idea what to do now, I just know I can not access any of the info I have in the system at this point. I am sure it's an easy fix, but don't want to start without your guidance, worried I'll just make things worse.

I will be restricted to reading messages on my black-berry. Any chance you can post the answer here and sent it to my email too. lacosteemmanuel@yahoo.com I'll do my best to check the forum.
Luckily, our gym isn't open yet, so we could start over from scratch if needed. Hope not, I had my entire inventory already imputed.
Did a first update get aborted? It sounds like the database was updated but failed, and then you tried again? I've never heard of this happening, so clearly an sequence of events occurred.
Regardless, hopefully you have been backing up the database? If so, just restore the latest archive and try the update again.
Actually, I have not been backing up the data base, put it off because we're still building the gym.
We'll be upgrading to the paid service you provide this week or next for sure. I like the idea of having our date stored off-site for sure.
regarding the update getting aborted, I don't think so. I hit the purple button, the window pop-up asking something, I agreed and just let he system do it all. When I restated RGP, the error message came up.
Just before the error code, the window saying updating data base pops up.

I am curious, and would like to see a copy of your database.
* Launch an msdos command line
* Go to c:\program files\mysql\mysql server [??]\bin
* mysqldump -uroot -p [YOUR DATABASE NAME] > database.sql
You will need to put in your database name where indicated, and then enter your root password. You can get your database name from the RGP Config Wizard / Advanced Settings
Zip up the database.sql file and email it to me along with your master key. I definitely need your master key.
email it to : andy DOT laakmann AT g mail
Yikes, your talking over my head. Let me see if I can do this for you. if not, I can relinquish control of my system to you with remote access I think. We would just need to set up a time and maybe skype to talk to each other.
lacosteemmanuel at yahoo dot com is my email.
I had data base trouble before. I formatted my drive and had to start over last time. In this case, I had no issues until I updated with the update button.
let me know if you want remote access to my system.
if I can't get this going, we will be starting over on a newly formatted computer next week. At that time, we are subscribing to your paid support plan. We have afew weeks before we open, so not a hurry hurry.
My email goes to my BB, I can reply immediately.
I know nothing about dos commands, but will explore this evening.
