cost of goods sold in quickbooks

Is there a way to transfer cogs from rgp to quickbooks? When we do a restock the unit cost gets entered but I don't see how to get this info into quickbooks

  • No. Most facilities do a monthly (or period) single journal entry representing the aggregate COGS for all products. i.e. they don't attempt to track COGS by product in both QB and RGP.

  • Our facility would like to see aroccos's issue automated. Not necessarily tracking all COGS by product, but automatically importing the COGS alongside the rest of the days business. Can total cost of goods be added to the z-report in a future update so facilities can import COGS into quick books with the rest of the z-report? I know you guys are pretty busy right now post launch of the booking system. Is this something that can be added to the docket? Thanks a bunch.

  • Sorry but I have no plans to automate this. Too many "what-ifs-and-what-have-yous", especially considering the myriad # of ways folks handle their COGS.

You can save the COGS report as a CSV file (save-as button when viewing the report).

Then you can use third party tools to import the CSV data as journal entries into Quickbooks. Sadly, Quickbooks does not include native support for importing of CSV files hence you need to use third party tools.

Here is one such tool: http://bigredconsulting.com/products/iif-transaction-creator-for-quickbooks/
