Ipad station issues

I thought I saw a post for this a while ago, but couldn't seem to find it.

We have two iPad waiver stations in our office and by later afternoon they seem to start to act up. They become very slow and don't recognize the touches or clicks.

My current quick fix is closing the program and opening it up in a different browser. Until that browser begins to act up, then I go back to the first browser.

Anyone else have issues with their ipads throughout the day? Or is this something I should see apple about?

Thanks.

  • I presume these are modern iPads, correct? And the iOS is up-to-date? If they are old iPads, than all bets are off...

Unfortunately, Safari is notorious for various resource leaks that causes the browser to slow down. The RGP waivers are just normal "web pages"... nothing fancy.

Are you turning off the iPads each night? That does seem to help.

  • We use Chrome as our browser for the iPad waiver stations, and had noticed similar behaviour. It's now standard procedure to shut down the iPads each night, and that seems to make them happy. I think just shutting down the browser would be enough (if the slowdown is due to a memory leak), but usually we shut down the device completely.

  • I have (2) 16GB ipad air with wifi and Bluetooth. They were purchased used and refurbished. all factory resets. Are these good for the waiver kiosk and what type of keyboard do you recommend ?
