visual prompt for prepaid members on check in
Hi all,
We would like to have an unattended self-checkin station with a visual cue to valid prepaid members that they are ok to enter. So the customer would swipe their own card, RGP would check them in, the customer would receive an "ok" or "please see reception" type message.
Of course staff can monitor that the customer is ok to enter - but that does not properly free up the member of staff. We prefer not to use turnstiles.
Has anyone done this or knows how to achieve?
Thanks, Steve

RGP's check-in screen is not designed to be "customer facing" as it discloses lots of personal information of previous customers who have visited that day.
Most check-in stations are basically unattended though.... just setup a dedicated check-in computer with the screen facing the staff and speakers attached. The "bo-ing" of an alerted member is all that is needed to get the staff and customer's attention.
You *could* build your own small application in Windows to do this though. RGP has a command line interface that takes a barcode number and returns 0 (good) or 1 (error) as application exit codes. It would be relatively simple application for someone to build and you could even do it in MS Access or something. Just make sure the application keeps the barcode input box in focus.
Command Line Format:
RockGymPro.exe /barcode XYZBARCODE
BTW, I suspect one of the reasons "unattended" check-in stations aren't popular is that it is so easy for someone to use someone else's card if they know the staff aren't looking at their member photos.
I would love something from RGP that allowed a customer facing screen for check in.
Dream Features?
- Show customer facing note - early entry warning, membership expired, waiver expired, please see desk etc.
- External trigger to light/turnstile/gate unlock
- Error messages duplicated to active RGP instances in other parts of gym, good check-ins do nothing.
I'm willing to take the risk of false entry, especially since RGP doesn't double check-in and would seem to make 'pass-back' entry impossible.
