Gift Card management

Hello,

I have some gift card questions:

1. Can you set gift cards to expire after a certain period (eg 2 years)?

2. Is it possible to create other types of gift cards? For example, if we want a credit scheme that can only be used in our café, one way of doing this would be to create a type of Gift Card called Café Credit. The reason for treating this differently is that some gift cards we may want to impose some conditions (like expiry) while for others we may not.

3. How do you process a refund on a gift card?

Thanks in advance

    1. No, there is no expiration capability on a gift card. This is actually illegal in many states...

    2. There is only one type of gift card.

    3. Good question - I was recently asked how to return GCs and noticed it wasn't obvious. For now you need to perform a workaround. Add ANY product to the transaction for the amount (say $1000). You might need to add a Misc. product and set the amount. Then redeem the gift card for the $1000. Then delete the product. Voila - $1000 gift card ready to be returned,
