Unfortunately, I do not have plans to add this feature as it is exceedingly complex to "simulate" all the possible future changes to a database that may effect dues.

As Amy mentions, you can go to Data Entry -> Adv Search and in the bottom, right is an option to search notes. As for managing retail - the power staff level can manage retail.

Have you installed the TWAIN driver? It may not default to install with the scanner.
