EFT Term memberships

Is it possible to have EFT memberships to have an end date? Or a specific number of payments?
We sell a limited number (just team kids) of 5 month memberships that I would like to be able
to offer on a payment plan.

  • Yes, just add a termination status with an END DATE in the future on the Status Tab.

If your billing date is the 1st, you'll want them to terminate the month before on the 31st, for example.

  • Hi Andy, Is it possible to also terminate EFT members by using Start & End dates under the 'prepaid membership dates' section of their Membership info? Is there an advantage to using a future status date change as suggested above instead?
    Thanks

  • Me again... One thing that occurred to me is that if we can use the prepaid membership start/end dates the customer can get an email if their membership is about to expire, whereas this would be more difficult to set up for future status changes.

  • No, prepaid end dates do not terminate EFT members. They are only associated with prepaid memberships. It's an interesting idea, but I'd be concerned of lots of unintended side effects that would cause of a ripple effect of requierd changes. For example, the email trigger you mention would now need to be aware of the membership type so the proper email could be sent. That isn't necessarily hard, but that list of "oh yeah, that would be effected...." could get quite long :)

Speaking of emails.... there is a little known advanced feature that allows custom SQL to be used as email triggers. It is in the Custom Actions section of the Email System. That could, conceivably, be used to send emails on upcoming status changes.
