Our check-in laptop just died so we got a 7" windows tablet for the check-in computer.
It works splendidly. (Winbook) brand. You might want some external speakers
I purchased an inexpensive stand and mounted it to the counter.
Note - if your tablet is a "Windows RT" tablet.. that is Window's Mobile operating system and does not run desktop apps. You want a full Windows 8 tablet.
Note that the new batch of low cost tablets will connect to a workgroup (ie managed by windows 7/8 machines), however I understand that some will not connect to a network domain (managed by windows server 2012 etc). So depending on your setup, worth checking.

RGP will run on any full Windows computer/laptop/tablet. It will not run on "Windows Mobile".
There are lots of tablet style Windows laptops out there (I just saw my doctor using one that she carried around the office).
Rather than think "tablet".. perhaps think "laptop" with a detachable keyboard and touchscreen. You will want the bigger screen.
