^^^^ What he said. You can google your scanner model and typically find a barcode to scan to configure the reader to send the CR after the numbers.

RGP uses Twain scanner sources, though I'm not sure where they "live" in Windows.

It queries Windows for the list of valid TWAIN devices. So Windows is returning the list.

I'd keep them separate, and you also want the gift cards to be more obscure. Perhaps start at 1000000 or something for the gift cards.
