Birthdays are required because they are needed (and recommended!) when customer records are created from the bookings. Without the birthdays it can be difficult to find/match existing customers.

You can only post dues once a month. For customers that signup that day... charge a prorated amount at POS (which will default to the FULL amount), and set their next bill date to next month.
