Finding a customer in Point of Sale

When creating a sale it’s important to assign a transaction to a specific customer whenever possible. For items like memberships, it will be required to have a customer assigned to the purchase. But even for items like retail, it can be helpful for your analytics to know which customers are buying what items and when so that you can better adjust your product line. Here is how to find a customer in the Point of Sale system.

  1. To get started, click POS to launch the Point of Sale system.
  2. Click the Customer button.
  3. Enter the last name, first name or barcode number of the customer to find them in your database. Select the name in the search results and click OK.
  • At this point if the customer has a note or alert on their account you will get a pop up window letting you know.
  • The customer will now be loaded into the Point of Sale. If the customer has an account balance this will now be displayed.
  • Complete the transaction.
