Scheduling automatic offsite backups

In addition to creating and storing onsite backups on your local computer, external drive or network, you must also schedule secure automatic offsite backups using the Rock Gym Pro server.

RGP’s local backup settings need to be configured before scheduling the RGP offsite backup via the Windows Task Scheduler.

  1. From Data Entry, select: Manage --> Maintenance --> Backup and Restore Database.

  2. Click Browse and create a local RGP backup folder. Save this to your Documents folder to avoid issues when transferring the backup to RGP.

  3. Check the Enable secure offsite backups box.

  4. Click Execute Backup Now. After RGP runs the backup to your local backup folder, a small window will appear asking if you would like to transfer your backup offsite. Click Yes.

  5. Click Close to exit.

After the offsite backup is complete, check your Local Archives Folder and Offsite Archives Folder to view your most recent backup.

After completing these steps, you will then need to schedule daily automatic backups using the Windows Task Scheduler: RGP Windows Task Scheduler to Send Offsite Backups
