It just moves records, it does not attempt to merge the customer details as the specifics will vary in each case. You can then copy over the info you want to keep and delete the original customer.

You can make a product inactive, but that will remove it from the POS list. So realistically you can't do what you want until you are out of stock, and then make the product inactive.
