Changing the content displayed in a widget

When creating a widget you’ll want to make sure to add a description and perhaps an image to explain the event, provide important booking information and entice the user into booking a class or coming down to the facility for an event.

  1. On the main calendar window click Manage Schedule.
  2. Click on the Schedules tab.
  3. Click on the offering you are creating a widget for and click the Edit button. This will bring up the Edit Offering window.
  4. In the Edit Offering window click the Online Presentation tab.
  5. First you’ll see a list of checkbox options for controlling the online presentation of each specific offering. These are the ones you will want to focus on for widgets:
  • Check Has an online details/booking page, which is required to put your widget online
  • Check Allowing online booking if this is an event that can be booked online like a birthday party; leave it unchecked if you want to display the event online but it doesn’t require a booking, like a drop-in yoga class
  • Choose whether or not to show custom events online
  • Choose if you want to show the lead instructor’s first name and last initial
  • Next, add an image by clicking the Thumbnail Image button. The maximum image size is 150x150px. This will be displayed on the catalog and offering pages. Note that if the header/footer is blank on an offering the thumbnail will not be displayed on the offering page.
  • The next thing you can do is customize the event title. This will override the offering title online.
  • After that add a short summary of the event to display in catalog and calendar widgets. Click Modify to add or edit the summary.
  • Finally, use the bottom tabs to add header text, tabbed sections or footer text. These options will only show up if you have clicked the checkbox Has an online details/booking page. This content can be left blank if you want all your marketing content to be at the catalog level and not the offering level.
  • Click Close to finish.
  •
