Restricting an offering to adults

To restrict an event from allowing children to enter you can do two things. The first is only have an adult participant type allowed for the offering. The second is to require the participant to answer a question verifying age. Do both together to ensure no kids get booked into your event.

To set the participant type to adult:

  1. On the main calendar window click Manage Schedule.
  2. Click on the Schedules tab.
  3. Select the offering and click the Edit button. This will bring up the Edit Offering window.
  4. In the Edit Offering window click the Booking tab.
  5. Under Selectable Participant Types on Bookings click the Add button.
  6. Select the Adult participant type and click OK. Delete all other participant types using the Delete button.

To create an age verification question:

  1. In the Edit Offering window click the Booking tab.
  2. Click the Configure Participant Questions button to bring up the Custom Questions window.
  3. Click Add to create a question like “Is this participant over 18?”
  4. With the question selected click Edit. Click the Answers Details tab and select the Multiple Choice question type from the drop down menu.
  5. Click the Add button to create a choice option with choice text that says “Yes”. Click OK to save.
  6. Require that the question be answered to make a booking. You can also give it a default value if you wish for it to be pre-checked. Click OK to save the question.
  7. Click Close to finish.
