Accessing Multiple Cloud Hosts from a Single Cloud Seat

For facilities with multiple locations, certain features such as Member Change Requests, Email System Templates, General Reports, and Customer Queries, can be accessed across multiple databases from one location. However, there may be scenarios where a single cloud seat for facilities on the RGP Cloud might need access to multiple cloud hosts. This guide explains how to configure that access for both Personal and Workstation seats.

Granting Access to Multiple Cloud Hosts

The process to grant a cloud seat access to multiple cloud hosts is the same whether the seat is a Personal seat or a Workstation seat.  A Cloud Org Admin for your facility will need to do the following:

  1. Log in to the RGP Cloud Dashboard: https://app.rgprocloud.net/login
  2. On the left, navigate to Seats.
  3. Locate the seat you want to modify and click the 3 dots on the far right.
  4. Click Edit.Cloud Dashboard - Edit Seats.jpg
  5. Under Groups, select the additional cloud hosts you want this seat to access.
  6. Submit to save your changes.

Note: You will need the DNS Endpoint and DNS Port of the additional facilities to which you want the seat to make a connection.  You can find this information in the RGP Cloud Dashboard by navigating to Facilities.hostport2.png

Example Shown:

DNS Endpoint: rockland.rgpcloud.net (no colon)
DNS Port: 11010

Creating New Connection Profiles

Once access is granted to the cloud seat, how you create new connection profiles to the additional locations will differ based on the type of cloud seat it is.

Personal Seats

Personal seats can create new connection profiles to the additional cloud hosts using the same method used to create their first connection profile.  You can read more about that here: Accessing Your Cloud Host

Workstation Seats

Workstation seats are typically used on shared computers and use encrypted credentials stored locally. Because of this, the setup process differs slightly.

Copying and Editing the Connection Profile

  1. On the workstation computer, open the RGP Cloud Client.
  2. Select the existing connection profile and click Copy.
Note: If you don't see the Copy button, you may need to click on the link below the Connect button to show management connection options.
  3. Edit the copied profile:
    - Update the nickname.
    - Change the DNS Endpoint and Port to match the new facility.
  4. Save the profile.

Important: Copying a connection profile on the same computer also copies the encrypted password, which allows you to access without re-entering credentials.

Important Considerations

Cloud Seat Access ≠ Database Access: Granting a seat access to a cloud host does not automatically give the user access within the RGP database. You may need to update employee permissions within each database to allow the user to perform specific tasks: Customizable Staff Roles and Permissions
